ADN to BSN Online Program Structure

Bridge ADN to BSN Program

This program is best suited for individuals who are currently undergoing their first year of an Associate’s Degree in nursing program.
By choosing this program, students can attend both their ADN and BSN programs concurrently, leading to a Bachelor’s of Science in nursing degree.

RN to BSN Program
This course is deal for individuals who already hold their RN license or are in their final semester of an ADN program and preparing for the NCLEX (National Council Licensure Examination). There is an option to enroll in the RN to BSN program either full-time or part-time, depending on individual circumstances.

Program Details: The ADN to BSN Programs integrates the art and science of nursing to provide care for individuals, families, and communities in various ways. The curriculum combines life, social, and behavioral sciences with general education, nursing theory, and clinical courses to produce nurses capable of handling various medical situations independently or as part of a team. Graduates are prepared to manage and coordinate personnel, services, resources, and data, in addition to providing patient care.

Clinical Experience

The Bachelor of Science in nursing degree features clinical experiences in community health, public health, leadership, and management. The application period for both the University and Nursing Program is from February 1st to March 31st.

ADN- BSN Prerequisite
 The program requirements vary depending on the university and location. Some AND to BSN programs are offered to students pursuing Associate Degree in Nursing where as some programs are open for ADN nurses with valid license.

Educational Requirements
General requirements are below. The educational requirements vary depending on the institution and State where the applicant want to join.

  • Hold a current RN (Registered Nurse) license.
    Grade Point Average (GPA):
  • An overall GPA of 2.5 or greater is required.
  • An overall GPA of 2.0 or greater in the prerequisite nursing courses with no grade lower than a C is required.
  • Resume: Applicants must provide their resume along with their nursing application.
  • Letters of Recommendation: Two letters of recommendation are required for the application. One letter should be from a nursing professor from the applicant’s current or recent nursing program. The second letter should be from a professional setting.
  • Transcripts: Official transcripts from all colleges attended must be provided with the nursing application.

GE Certification
Students are advised to have their general education courses “GE certified” and stamped on their transcripts from the community college.

If you are interested in the “Summer Bridge” ADN to BSN Program and are currently within your first year of your Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) program, you must apply to CSU Channel Islands as an ADN-BSN “Summer Bridge” major.
The application period for this program is between December 1st, 2023, and March 31st, 2024.
